Welcome to South Tillamook County CERT!
CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. Through training, citizens can manage utilities and put out small fires; treat the three killers by opening airways, controlling bleeding, and treating for shock; provide basic medical aid; search for and rescue victims safely; and organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers to be effective.
Here in South Tillamook County our CERT program was established in 2014. Every CERT team has an agency sponsor and our team is sponsored by the Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District. Our team is small (but growing) and is dedicated to helping our community prepare for any disaster that may be in our future. Our team also provides community support during many non-disaster events such as traffic control at the Reach The Beach event in Pacific City recently. If you or anybody you know is interested in becoming CERT trained, just CLICK HERE. By nature, CERTs are caring and generous people. So not only will you be preparing yourself and your family for a disaster, but you’ll be joining a wonderful group of friends that care about their community and each other!
Thanks to our wonderful CERT members listed below!
