What are We?
CERT members are people who want to know what to do when disaster strikes, to take care of themselves, family, and their neighbors. Some members work in our area and want to be prepared when disaster happens at work. Our training material is provided by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and supported by the fine firefighters of the Depoe Bay Fire District. The Depoe Bay Fire District CERT Program began in 2009 with the first local training class offered at Gleneden Beach Fire Station.

How to join us...
We offer the CERT Basic Training class every other year in the fall. This is a 7 week class held one evening a week, usually on Thursdays from 6-9:00 pm. And it is followed by a final disaster simulation on the Saturday morning following the class. We know that schedules can be difficult, so if you miss a class, you can make it up at any CERT Basic Training class in Lincoln County. If you have taken the CERT Basic Training from areas outside Lincoln County we'd love to hear from you. If you are interested in attending this training, contact us at info@DepoeBayCERT.org
Our monthly CERT meetings
On the 4th Tuesday of the month we offer continuing CERT training from 6-7:00 pm, to help us maintain our skills and knowledge. These are held at the Gleneden Beach Fire Station. They are informative and fun. And a great way to build friendships and support with folks like you.
CERT HAMs
We also have an enthusiastic group of members who have become licensed Amateur Radio 'HAMs'. Our 5 watt, 2 meter radios increase our ability to communicate in an emergency beyond our neighborhoods. If you are interested in becoming a CERT HAM, just email us at info@DepoeBayCERT.org.
